Are you thinking about how to improve life and steer towards happiness and satisfaction?

If the answer is yes, then you are here at the right place.

Here are simple life rules for a happy life:

No one is responsible for your happiness.

To live a happy life, you must understand that no one else is responsible for your happiness – it all comes down to your mindset and how you look at things. That said, instead of waiting for the perfect moment to kickstart life and do something that you always wanted to do – take some action and do things now.

That said, don’t delay and sign up for those dance lessons, get enrolled in the cooking course, meet new people, write that essay, start saving money, go on that trip, and if you live away from your parents – ego and visit them now. Don’t wait for tomorrow – there is only now!

Everyone won’t like you.

It doesn’t matter who the popular girl or guy is at school – if you aren’t the center of attention, don’t fret over it. Not everyone can be a popular person, and you shouldn’t strive to be one either.

Change the way you look at life – life isn’t a popularity contest, and not everyone in your social circle will see your true value and appreciate you.

Instead of wasting your time and obsessively ruminating over that, you might want to invest your thoughts in becoming a better person or a better version of yourself. Don’t waste time trying to prove yourself to others who don’t care about you or matter to you anyway.

Instead, spend quality time with your loved ones, and even if your social circle might be smaller than the popular guys, you will find comfort in the thought that you have close friends whom you can rely on and experience life together.

Own your feelings

Your feelings and emotions are the result of your thoughts and not what someone else has said or done to you. While this might be somewhat hard to accept, it simply happens to be true. We never feel a certain way about something that happened to us or because of the thing itself.

Rather, we feel a certain way because of our perception of the person, thing, or situation. Our thoughts determine our mood, and our mood determines our behavior. That said, if you want to feel differently, you might want to start with your thoughts.

Learn to be responsible

The rule is very simple here – if you don’t learn to be responsible, you will be held responsible. No matter what you say or do, your words and actions will have consequences. And, if you don’t hold yourself accountable for the things you do and the words you say – someone else will.

Our society functions on accountability – it is how rules are set and applied to keep order in society. Accountability also enables us to maintain our integrity so we can function as better individuals and become good members of society.

Accountability also leads to the feeling of contentment and happiness.
